We have much news to tell you, first off, since our last update we’ve changed how things look and work around here. We’ve gotten ourselves a Twitter account (@zerocoolband). We recorded a new album, and mixed another one. The album we gave a fresh mix to is called “Talk – Action = Hippies”, this leads to the BIG news, it is coming out on this Record Label that picked us up, very friendly folk over there, Livid Records. The vinyl should be in our hands to sell to you in early January of 2011, but you can go snake the digital version of it early at http://canadapunk.bandcamp.com, while waiting or it to get into our hands we’ve released another 3 song EP “… And He’s To Blame” you can find it in our digital store of self released goodness http://store.zerocoolband.com.
In local news we’re almost out of the “Grenade” shirts, you know the ones you’ve been able to pick up from us for $5 at every show for the past couple years. So snake one while you can. The grenade package deal is shirt +”… and he’s to blame” EP + “… and he didn’t have a say” EP for only $10! The new shirts will be hence forth known as “Pentagram” these are a limited edition one time run that we are doing, with only 40 available (Mens & Ladies). The Pentagram package until “Talk – Action = Hippies” comes out will be T-shirt + both EPs + Patch for $20.
Well its time i posted one of the final mixes. “Your Thick Head” was originally released in early 2009 and it sounded a little different, so here is the 2nd mix on the upcoming re release of ..And He Didn’t Have a Say EP. order yours today!
.. we got our shit together. We recorded an album, went on tour and here we are. Tho we liked the album, we felt it didn’t represent us as we stand today. all the songs (minus 1984 and contract) were written 2 years ago. Since then we’ve done some group meditation and pilates (andy is an excellent instructor), and we’re getting closer to the sound that best fits the squad. SO. As of Jan 1 2010 we are going into seclusion and not retuning to civilization untill we’ve recorded the entire zero cool catalog. Thats right kids 33 songs written over 2 years and recorded in 4 days. Talk – Action = Hippies will still be released. however, since all the line up changes over the years, it will be more of a greatest hits collections. Instead of 10 songs it will feature 20 songs and still come in under a half hour. along with this gem, we well record our second album, working title “ZERO COOL II”. featuring 10 never before heard tunes! however due to the lack of patrons at our previous gigs, All these tunes are New to you! look for us in the new year!
its been a while since anything was said or done. we’re still rocking around, i got off my ass and made this slightly more interesting. gonna try and keep this at least half as up to date as the myspace Blog, or the new facebook page. we have some merch now, solid items, silly pins, touques, shirts whatever. and we’ll be playing out first show sans KP since ever.. on FEB 20th supporting our friends ASS. we’re out there can be picked up at Blackbyrd in edmonton. thats it the only place you can buy it. you can also harras the dudes at CJSR (fm 88.5) to play our music, that would be hilriously awesome.
So we got a couple of things in the works: We haven’t officially released the “Pretty EP”, but theres only 4 copies left…. this was recorded one afternoon when we were between drummers. 4 acoustic songs: We’re Not Fugazi, Tolerance Lobotomy, Strangeland and Wanna Live in My Shed? Along with these songs you get the only studio recording, and i use the term studio very loosely, of Wanna Live in My Shed with Mike on drums.
So enough about that. We’ve decided to re-release the “Pretty EP” with Two extra songs, this time faster and with a drummer, no acoustic here. Along with this, we are also releasing the “Red Shovel Rocket EP” with 6 more songs.
Along with this there is a Bootleg of our show at the studio that happened 02/23/08. 14 songs and a couple of extra tracks.
Along with this we also have a new drummer. We’d like to welcome Paul into the band. Hi Paul. So after all that, we’re gonna try and play a lot more shows so look for us. or don’t.
May 6, 2008 So Christians like us??? having a drummer on hiatus is...
having a drummer on hiatus is kinda like trying to put a saddle on a dead horse. so anyways last month or the month before, we played an Acoustic set at a Christian Battle of the bands, and the song “Tolerance Lobotomy” ( a song completely directed at Christans) was a surprise hit. I’m gonna post a few songs from our “Folk” ep “Pretty” its also available for download, just follow links from our website. www.zerocoolband.com , soon to come…. MORE SHIT!!!
